BASF SE (BASFY) and Siemens Smart Infrastructure have announced the introduction of the first electrical safety product incorporating components made from biomass-balanced plastics. The Siemens SIRIUS 3RV2 circuit breaker is now manufactured using BASF’s Ultramid BMBcert and Ultradur BMBcert, where fossil feedstock at the start of the value chain is replaced with biomethane from renewable sources like agricultural waste.
